BurnFat provides nutrition, calorie balance, activity, and weight-management tools. You can contact us at support@getburnfat.app for privacy questions, support requests, or data deletion requests.
BurnFat is not a medical provider. The app is designed for general wellness and nutrition tracking, not for diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice.
Data we collect
We collect data you provide directly, data created by your use of the app, and data you choose to connect from supported device services.
- Account and profile data, such as email address, display name, authentication identifiers, height, weight, goals, preferences, and onboarding answers.
- Nutrition and logging data, such as meal descriptions, food photos, barcode scans, product information, calories, macros, portions, notes, and generated meal estimates.
- Health and activity data, such as steps, workouts, active energy, resting energy, and related metrics, only when you grant permission through Apple Health, HealthKit, Health Connect, or the relevant device permission flow.
- App, device, usage, diagnostic, and support data, such as app version, operating system, feature usage, error logs, support messages, and subscription or purchase status when provided by Apple, Google, or our payment providers.
How we use data
- To create and maintain your account.
- To calculate calorie balance, nutrition summaries, trends, goals, and progress estimates.
- To analyze meals from text, photos, or barcode inputs, including by using AI and food data providers.
- To sync activity and health-related metrics after you grant permission.
- To provide support, debug issues, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
- To manage purchases, subscriptions, trials, and entitlement status when applicable.
Health data and permissions
BurnFat only reads health or activity data after you explicitly grant permission in the relevant platform permission screen. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.
We do not use health data from Apple Health, HealthKit, Health Connect, or comparable sources for advertising, marketing profiling, or unrelated data mining. We use it to power the wellness, activity, and calorie-balance features you request.
AI meal analysis
When you ask BurnFat to analyze a meal from a photo or text, the input may be processed by AI service providers to estimate food items, portions, calories, and nutrients. These estimates can be wrong and should be reviewed by you.
Food photos and meal inputs may be stored so the app can show your history, improve your experience, and help us debug support issues. Do not upload content that is unrelated to meal tracking or that contains sensitive information you do not want processed.
Service providers
We use trusted service providers to operate BurnFat. They may process data for hosting, database storage, authentication, AI processing, file storage, product lookup, payments, app distribution, support, security, and internal operational notifications.
Current categories of providers include cloud hosting and deployment providers, database and authentication providers, AI providers, food product data providers, Apple and Google platform services, app store payment providers, and internal operations tools.
Retention and deletion
We keep personal data for as long as needed to provide BurnFat, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and operate our business.
You can request account deletion or data deletion by contacting support@getburnfat.app. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups, security logs, payment records, or records we are required to keep.
Your choices and rights
- You can update certain account and profile information in the app.
- You can revoke Apple Health, HealthKit, Health Connect, camera, photo, notification, or similar permissions in your device settings.
- You can request access, correction, export, deletion, or restriction of your personal data by contacting us.
- You can unsubscribe from non-essential communications when such communications are available.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to keep BurnFat reliable and protected.
Children
BurnFat is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BurnFat evolves. When changes are material, we will update the date above and provide additional notice where appropriate.
